Black Glazed Salt |
£95 |
| Description | A typical "salt", black glazed from the Greek colonies. Salts were so named in the 18th century, after the dishes used within that period. Infact the original purpose of these attractive compact dishes is unknown. |
| Condition | There is no sign of restoration or repair but, as can be seen from the photos, there is considerable wear to the glaze on the body, foot and base. This is a delightful smaller item for the newer collector. |
| Date | circa 4th Century BC |
